Michael Carneiro has been a part of the Matt Nichol team since 2009. Coming off a hugely successful 2016/2017 season with the OHL’s Mississauga Steelheads where they reached the OHL Finals, as well as graduating from Sheridan College with a Bachelors of Health Sciences in Athletic Therapy degree, he is now in the gym full-time.
Michael is no stranger to success or being a part of championship winning teams, which is evident in his many career highlights which include roles as a Head Trainer for the St. Michael’s Buzzer Jnr A Hockey Club and again during the inaugural Central Canada Cup All Star Tournament in 2011. Michael has also been called upon to play a very important role as part of the medical staff for the 2015 and 2017 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships. His experience and professionalism lead him to roles as a trainer with the Jnr and Varsity Kerry Blues Football Team and the Varsity Blues Raiders Basketball, where they went on to win the 2015 OFSSA Championships. His success as a trainer was capped of with a 2-year stint with the Mississauga Steelheads of the OHL.
Michael’s attention to detail and his passion for watching his athletes succeed is evident in his many certifications and qualifications, which include; BAHSc (Athletic Therapy), CATA Certification Candidate, CSEP-PT Certified, CPR-HC Certified, First Responder Certified and Certified in Soft Tissue Release. His commitment to his education is always on going to ensure he is always up to date with the latest trends and theories from the Strength and Conditioning world.
